6 Of The Hottest 7 Passenger Vehicles On The Road

Remember when you were a kid? Did you parents of your friends parents have one of those old school Station Wagon's?

You know, the one's that had wood paneling on the outside and 3 rows of seats on the inside? 3 rows of seats was amazing. Other than a van, no other vehicle could accommodate this many people. With Sport Utility Vehicles (SUV's) and Minivan's hitting the scene, the Station Wagon went away quick.

The newer vehicles were just bigger, more useful, and , well, cooler looking. (That last one is up for debate) Even the the innovative tailgate went away until Honda brought it back on their Ridgeline truck. (Swings out and folds down)You could really see it coming.

The Minivans are just way bigger and give you cargo and passenger space second to none. Regardless of the stigma attached, they are one of the most useful vehicles you can buy.

The SUV on the other hand is bigger, but, let's face it, just looks cooler that a wagon.

It also makes people feel safer because of their size and how far off the ground they are. 7 passenger vehicles such as SUV's, CUVs and wagons have become most popular in countries like Australia, United States, Canada, UK, South Africa and India.

If you need a 7 passenger vehicle, an SUV or a Minivan could be for you. Check out these popular models.

SUV's –

The larger SUV became hugely popular in the 1990's. Gas was cheap, the economy was good and everybody wanted and SUV. Though things have changed over the last few years with the sky-high gas prices and the economy in the tank, many people still have the need for a seven passenger vehicle. Most of them can get in around 20 MPG city/highway combined, which is not terribly awful.

The Chevy Traverse — With a nice little V-6, this vehicle gets better fuel efficiency (barely) than the Honda Pilot, but is definitely smaller. Honda Pilot –

The Pilot cam out in 2003 (to replace the Passport) and was always rated high from the start.

The newest version came out in 2010 and did not disappoint.

They come in 2WD or 4WD and have a Variable Cylinder Management system for better gas mileage.

Toyota Highlander –

The most diverse of the 3, the Highland comes in both a 4cylider and 6 cylinder versions.

In addition to that, and at an addition $7000, it comes in a hybrid version as well.

The Emergence of the Minivan — It was a interesting concept that caught on and has never went away.

In fact, the Minivan is one of the most useful vehicles you can own.

The combination of space and convenience is like no other.

2011 Honda Odyssey — With 8 passenger seating and a V-6 engine with 250hp, the Odyssey is usually regarded as one of the top 3 Minivans that you can buy.

Town and Country from Chrysler — Great concept of being able to fold all 7 seats flat into the floor without having to take them out.

You do give up a little comfort in those seats, but it is pretty cool none the less, especially if you tend to do a lot of hauling.

2011 Toyota Sienna — Look for this model to be redesigned for 2011.

It currently offers 4WD, but is not quite as finished off as the Odyssey or Town and Country. Just my opinion. Although everybody seems to looking for fuel efficiency these days, people do need the space for 7 or 8 passengers.

The vehicles above are definitely some of the best and should help get you started in your search. Good luck in your search for the perfect 7 passenger vehicle!
