Nick Jonas, one of our favorite guy celebs, blessed the North Texas Food Bank on January 2 by pledging $25,000 to the facility. “If there's something I can do to help volunteer here today or giving a financial gift- that's something I can do,” Jonas told
The Dallas Morning News. Jonas helped our during his two hour visit, by putting together food packages for the charity. Born in Dallas, he felt at home while volunteering alongside his many fans. Later, after volunteering, Jonas debuted his new, highly anticipated band Nick Jonas & the Administration at Dallas' House of Blues. Beginning the band's tour in Dallas just “felt like the right move” for our favorite heartthrob. Approximately 140 volunteers joined to help at the food bank and meet Jonas. One of the volunteers was Serena, the 10-year-old granddaughter of Food Bank President Jane Pruitt. Serena is a big fan of Nick Jonas, and was thrilled to meet him at the facility. “He knows his rights and wrongs, and he knows that other kids don't have what he has. And he's thankful for what he has,” Serena was quoted in an article from

The issues of hunger across the globe is important to Nick. As a diabetic, he has a firsthand look at how necessary healthy and regular eating is to live a successful life. Some of his diabetic fans look up to Jonas as a role model; a person who lives with diabetes and succeeds with it. Since before their teenage years, the Jonas brothers have been supportive of charities. According to their dad, they donated $1. 5 million in 2008 and 2009 through their foundation.
The North Texas Food Bank was a collaborative effort between TV's “The Biggest Loser” and the charity Feeding America. Feeding America, the United State's leading hunger-relief charity, consists of more than 200 food banks and food rescue organizations. Each year, the charity feeds approximately 25 million low-income Americans, including over 9 million children.
