Think back to the beginning of 200
5. Like most, you started the new year with many goals for success. What goals did you set? Maybe 2005 was the year you were going to lose weight, get a better job, make more money, meet someone or quit smoking. Let me ask you a question. How did it go? 2009 has officially come to an end. Now look back and see how many of those goals did you actually accomplish? It's ok, there's nothing wrong in admitting that you weren't able to accomplish the goals you set. Realizing that you didn't is the first step toward creating positive changes in 2010. New Year after New Year you have reflected on your past and promised yourself that this New Year would finally be different than all the rest.
You've had goals before and you've made “resolutions” that you promised yourself that you would accomplish what you failed to accomplish in the past years. However, you still repeated the same behavior, which led to you not accomplishing your goals.
It was Albert Einstein who said, “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results. “Why do you expect changes if you keep using the same formula to set your goals? Do you really think you will accomplish them? It may be time to take a different approach.
If you're not willing to change your approach you will probably be ending 2010 the same way you have ended 2009 and, once again, nothing in your life will have changed. While it's true that setting and achieving goals does not require the beginning of a new year, it does have a certain psychological effect.
You have the assumption that you are given the chance to wipe the slate clean and start all over again.
The main reason you want to wipe your slate clean is because of what wasn't accomplished. Most people who achieve their desired goals aren't looking for a new beginning; they only want to build upon their current successes. As people meet their goals, they are usually setting new ones and gaining momentum, which produces unlimited possibilities. However, it doesn't have to be a new year to get into action. What is needed is the resolved to produce changes in your life. That is the meaning of a resolution. My preference is to do this on your birthday, which is YOUR personal day and can be used for reflection and resolutions. Anyway, in the past goals weren't accomplished because you tried to get different results without changing your behavior and taking thebelow mentioned steps for success. Well, Einstein said it right; it is crazy to think that the same old behavior will get you new results. New Year 2010, let's begin forward motion by achieving goals on a more constance basics. Here are six action steps to achieve your goals and produce success in your life:1) Start out small. Don't think about huge sweeping changes that you want. Pick small goals that you can achieve in the next 30-60days. 2)Be completely committed to your goals by writing, or typing, them. 3)Read your goals every day and ask yourself what can you do today to assist in achieving them.
In the past after you made your goals, you became busy and those goals were quickly Remind yourself daily. 4) Take the action you decided on that day. Every inch you move forward gets you closer to your goal. 5) At the end of your day, read your goal again out loud and ask yourself if you did everything you could to achieve it. Make necessary adjustments on your actions the next day when reading your goals again. 6) Once goals are achieved immediately make new 30-60 day goals and repeat the process all over again. Follow these six steps to success and at the end of 2010 you will be celebrating a new pattern of success that will bring you endless results in the years to come.
