Do Binoculars Float?

Do binoculars float? This is a question which can only be answered by people using a neck strap. Hopefully you have never been on the water duck hunting, and leaned over to scoop up a duck and heard that sickening splash.

The guys wearing a binoculars harness would have no clue.

Their binoculars are safe and secure. Do binoculars bounce when dropped from a tree? When a hunter gets tired of their binoculars swinging from their neck, they take them off and set them down on their stand. One wrong move and those expensive optics are headed for the ground. Those hunters using a binocular harness strap will never answer this question either.

Their binoculars don't swing around.

They just rest comfortably against their chest, ready for action. Does a Nikon binocular lens get scratched when it swings into branches?

You can ask many hunters who use neck straps, and they will assure you scratches do happen, and you can even break the lens when it swings out of control for one moment. Now, those hunters using a Nikon Prostaff binocular strap have no idea what they are talking about.

Their binoculars have never swung out of control. (You might discover they do know.

They probably bought a bino harness after damaging their binoculars before. )Can binoculars get tangled in brush? With binoculars on a neck strap swinging as you walk, and flying forward as you bend over, it is simply a matter of time before they get caught on something.

The perplexed look on the hunters with a binocular harness is because they never considered this an issue.

They bend, walk, and move with ease without worrying about their binoculars. Are binoculars heavy, and a general pain in the neck? Wearing binoculars around your neck from sunrise until the end of day of hunting is not pleasant. Not many hunters survive, they take their binoculars off and put them away. Not the guys with a harness.

They never even thought about taking them off.

The only time they notice their binoculars is when they need them. Now back to our original question. Do binoculars float?

They float, they bubble, and then they sink gracefully into the murky water. Hopefully you will never need to watch your investment disappear into the muck of a pond before you choose to buy a high quality binoculars harness.
