Easy Soap Making Recipes For Kids

If you want to make your own soap but don't want all the fuss associated with it, follow these ideas for easy soap making recipes. Creating soap can be very complicated or fairly easy; the recipes can be extremely variable in difficulty level.

The following ideas include basic soap creating skills and things needed, but many other elements can be used for making soap.

The ideas below are just very simple ways for both adults and kids to make soap. Some basic ingredients that you should purchase when thinking about making simple soaps are clear, glycerin soap; molds, as well as dyes and/or fragrances. Other necessities, such as microwave-safe measuring cups and double boilers, can probably be found in your kitchen (if not you can figure out another method or purchase these items). Other items that might come in handy for soap making are rubbing alcohol (in a spray bottle) and small objects (such as toys). To start making your soap, first decide whether you want to make it in the microwave or on the stove. For the microwave you will need a microwave-safe measuring cup, and for the stove you will need a double boiler or similar contraption (with a lid). Next, cut the glycerin soap into pieces to melt. This will speed up the melting process.

Then melt the soap in the microwave or on the stove. Heat it ONLY until it is fully melted – do not let it sit in a melted state for too long. This means you should watch it melt very carefully.

The next step is to add perfume or dyes to the melted soap.

You will not necessarily get it perfect the first time.

You can add different elements to the soap but not any large objects yet. Once all colors, scents, and other additives are poured into the melted soap, pour it into the mold of your choice.

If adding an object, only pour about a quarter of your soap mixture in. Add the object after about five minutes, and then spray some alcohol over the top of it. Finish filling the mold with the mixture.

If you do not want to add an object, just pour the melted soap into the mold. Let it harden for at least an hour before removing.
