Achieving The State Of Serenity

Have you ever been in a state of serenity? Maybe you are wondering how is it to be in such position. When one's mind is calm, peaceful, and unruffled by the noise of the environment, this mind is in serenity. This inner peace provides the human being a feeling of contentment and bliss.

It is intelligence and consciousness that differs human beings from other animals. This gift of consciousness enables us to perceive the external world and be able to feel emotions from our own experiences.

The emotions, feelings, and sentiments that we experience have the power to determine our equilibrium or “inner life. “

The social and moral values are the roots of our consciousness.

Also, it plays the main part in affecting our life's inner equilibrium.

It might be saddening to hear that our inner life is always on a disturbed state or in chaos. However, that is true. This is due to the aching feelings we get from sadness, guilt, shame, and anger.

These are factors that can greatly affect your mind and heart. Naturally, we always seek for equilibrium or to reach the right balance of life. Our ultimate goal in life is to reach bliss.

The kind of happiness that provides contentment. Some seek respite in various forms of addiction, or others by passionately submerging themselves in work or pleasure.

These paths, however, never satiate the true desire for peace or tranquility. Serenity, or peace, is achieved by striving for inner peace first.

The most important step in this direction is to recognize the inner child of the mind.

The second step emancipating the inner child from all forms of abuse and loving it unconditionally, like a child. Self-love is the key to serenity. Self-love doesn't require one to be directed by the inner child. One should take control as a conscious being and love one's self, yet not be dictated by it. Some find serenity in nature; for others, serenity is found in visiting with family and friends. True serenity is achieved by empowering the inner life and allowing it to reflect the external life.
