Writing an article may look like a very tedious task but if you have got the grit and the spirit to do, anything is easy.

You would have seen a no. of people penning articles for journals, websites, newsletters, etc. Some even write articles on their blogs.

The key concept followed by majority of the people is to carry out some research on the topic, noting down the points and writing the article. To apply this technique one needs to start off with determining what they are going to write about.

If you are unsure about your topic then do a brainstorming session to pick a relevant topic and then think about a few ideas.

The next factor which you need to focus upon is the readers of your article. This will decide the way you need to present your article. Say you are doing a piece of writing on “creating a PowerPoint presentation”.

If this article is going to be for the business people, then you need to detail more on a lot of advanced features available in PowerPoint.

If your readers are small school children you can stop with the basic procedure for creating a presentation.

If you have a good enough idea about your topic then start off with little research but if you are unsure about your topic then take enough time to research and understand your topic before you commence on writing your article. Giving enough time to research is important as once you under stand your topic you can write in a continuous flow instead of stopping to check for new points every couple of minutes. Another factor of importance is of what length your article is going to be. For instance if you are writing an article for your teacher as an assignment, then probably you would have already been informed on how many words the article needs to contain.

In such cases where you have an idea of the length of the article, make sure you write the introduction, body and the conclusion appropriately. Finally, make sure you review your article as many times as possible. Every good book author always passes their books through editors who check and edit their books. Even though you may have a good command over your language it is always possible that there may be some spelling or grammatical errors in your articles.

Also, re-reading your article allows you to make changes in the way you put your point across and improve your article for all your readers.
