Tell Google To Take That Ppc And Shove It – Banner Ads Are My Mlm Lead Generator

If you are advertising online with Google PPC, there is no doubt you have experienced or witnessed the dreaded “Slap” that is going on with certain home business ads.

If this is you, what are you going to do if you get cut off from your favorite paid strategy? Banner ads are rarely used or talked about in most MLM circles. People talk about web surfers being blind to banners and how they don't get good results. Nothing could be further from the truth, if you know what you are doing.

I use this strategy to capture 5-10 very targeted prospects a day without breaking a sweat or the bank.

The following are the secrets that I use to get these results. Keyword research isn't a secret, but it is crucial when banner advertising. Find a keyword that is getting a lot of traffic and then search it in Oogle and see what the sites return for that word. Go to several sites and identify which ones have banner ads running. See if you can find the sites that have advertising available and contact them about running your ads. Realize that most of these sites will have prices set that are higher than you can get them other places, but the traffic will be more targeted.

If the sites don't have any ad spots you can contact one of the following companies that sell banner ad spaces: BuySellAds, BlogAds, etc. Once you have done your keyword research, you need to look at the demographics for the sites you pulled up to search for ad spots. Use the demographics from those sites as a target for your ads.

You don't want to be advertising your home biz opp on a site that sells Barbies. My favorite demo checkers are Alexa and Quantcast.

They shouldn't be taken as the gospel, but can get you really close constraints with them. We know our target market and what they are searching, why don't we get our banners.

If you are representing an MLM or affiliate, they will probably already have stock banners.

If they don't you can make some yourself in Photoshop or have an outsourcer handle them for you.

You can get some really good banners for a couple of hundred dollars or less. Usually, I will make my own or get them made because I know that everyone else that has access to the stock banners will be using them.

I like to stand out from the crowd for some reason.

The most attractive thing about banner advertising is the prices.

You can get PPC clicks for under $1 and have more targeted traffic than with regular PPC.

The other option is CPM (cost per mille), which is where you pay per 1,000 impressions.

It is not uncommon to get a couple of clicks on your CPM that you have only paid a quarter for, which is unreal. Finally, you will have to determine if your ad will link directly to your offer/ affiliate page or a landing page. Well how do you know which way you should go? A good rule of thumb is anything over $50 should be directed to a landing page in order to sell the prospects prior to getting to the primary offer.

If you don't send them to a landing page, you will more than likely see a pretty dramatic decrease in conversions.

I realize banner ads are not as sexy to most as PPC, but your conversions can be the same and cost less with this method of advertising.

If you are looking to pick up the pieces after getting the Google Slap, look to banner advertising to get your lead generation back on its feet and generating that steady stream of MLM leads that you have become accustomed to.
