Warcraft Rep Grinding. Getting The Mount You Want.

Playing the race of your choice can lead to some issues later in the game. At level 20 you will receive a letter from your mount trainer, and that's the time to pay your first few gold pieces and learn to ride your faction's basic mount. Mounts make travel 60% faster. Levelling and questing is speeded up considerably as a result. But what if you prefer a different racial mount? Underneath, all mounts have exactly the same function, but some are just more appealing to players than others.

The Night Elf sabre mount and the Orc Wolves are particularly popular, perhaps for the same reason that people keep cats and dogs as pets. Firstly, you can't own a mount from the other faction. Alliance characters cannot have a Horde mount and vice versa.

The good news is you can have any mount from your own faction. To buy a different mount from your own faction, you first need to be exalted with the race to which the mount belongs.

There are two ways of achieving this.

The cheapest way is to do all the quests you can find for that faction.

If you are level 20 or higher, go to the starting zone for the faction whose mount you want and complete all the easy quests.

They won't give you a lot of experience (if any) but they will yield plenty of faction reputation. At level 40 you have the option of helping your adopted race's war efforts by handing in cloth to the quartermaster. Wool then silk followed by vast quantities of the higher level cloths. Each stack of 60 will bring a slight reputation increase. Take note, to get from friendly to exalted will take thousands of cloth pieces. Keep going, until you get exalted status, then off to the mount trainer for that race and they will let you train and buy their mount. Good luck
