A Technophobe’s Guide To Mp3 Accessories

I've noticed something over the past few years that most people have turned in their stale radios for ever inventive MP3 players, including most recently myself.

I tried to stave off technology, fearing change as if it was a dreaded disease.

I was always thinking, if it was good enough for my favorite radio DJ's then, it must be good enough for me. Easily the most abundant MP3 accessories are the many cases, clips and armbands available.

There are docking stations that rival anything you see on the Sci-Fi channel. Headphones and ear buds are readily available for mobility and privacy and car connections can be used for when the multitude of radio channels just fail to play your favorite Weird Al parody any longer.

The first thing needed is a case.

They can be found in glorious splendor from silver and black to my daughter's favorite purple.

I opted for MP3 accessories in the really cute orange, pink and green geometric patterned safety case and as an afterthought grabbed a pink one, it didn't hurt it benefitted breast cancer as well. Clips are the MP3 accessories that put the rock in your roll.

You can wear them on your belt, in your pocket, on your hat and even connected to your laptop.

They keep your tunes handy whether you are jogging, riding a bike or downing your latte while keeping up to date on Facebook. Armbands take that accessibility further, allowing you to wear on any appendage you want doing virtually anything your imagination will allow. Be careful though, some of those images are illegal in many countries. Armbands are also one of the accessories that allow you to include your Blackberry, I Phone or Taser along with your MP3 player for Clint Eastwood ease in handling.

These really come in handy for the jogger or exercise type.

I wear one while mowing the yard. Mainly because I don't have to worry about brush knocking my MP3 player to the ground. Docking stations are the greatest in MP3 accessories.

They have come a long way from a place to charge your IPOD.

They now allow you to blast your musical tastes into the ears of everyone around you.

You can even have then hard wired into your electrical systems, hang them in your shower so you can pretend you are the greatest singer since Freddie Mercury, or you can hook them into your computers and televisions to allow access while doing the very important things you do on your computer.

The most versatile of MP3 accessories may be ear buds and headphones. Some prefer not to have things sticking into their ear canal while others are perfectly fine with it. Some of the preference is related to sound quality.

If you don't mind looking like Princess Lea you can opt for a huge set of headphones and typically they sound nice and are very durable. For the exercise buff and the person trying to put one over on their boss, ear buds are recommended.

I will admit at work that using the player with the MP3 accessories has kept me out of trouble, virtually becoming a babysitter of sorts because I don't hear all the gossip that gets me into trouble.

It's really too bad keeping my kids out of trouble isn't so easy.
