The number of excuses for this type of violence seems to be endless, but in the end there is no excuse for physically or mentally abusing a person you profess to love.

Once you have entered a plea the judge is likely to issue a restraining order that is designed to keep you away from your accuser, in most cases of domestic violence in Ontario this means you cannot go home, see your spouse or your children until the case is over.

You will need to make alternate living arrangements and should follow the court orders to the letter so that you do not add fuel to fire.
