I continue to learn new applications each day. By far the greatest advantage to me is having a gps and radio wrapped up in one unit. This gives you a lot less to carry around ( and possibly lose).

The mic works fantastic, and it works terrific with my Motorolas. Of course I can send my position to another Garmin Rino user using the GMRS range.

The Position Reporting is also an important for me.

There are so many potential uses for Position Reporting feature.

It is similar to military operations with it's search & rescue capabilities.

I use it to round up my kids when we are on an outdoor camping trip.

I am really happy with the other features, like the moving map, an alarm clock, and calender. After the initial position fix set up, I found that be satellite acquisition is much quicker than my old GPS device. Between SA being switched off and the new WAAS system, I have been able to achieve incredible positioning accuracy of anywhere from 7 – 9 feet.

The unit is compact and very lightweight. No one likes carrying around needless weight.

I particularly liked the battery life on this unit; you will be pleasantly surprised here, too. On the whole, I feel that the Garmin 120 is a valuable device loaded with the features you need.

It sells at a good price for a mapping GPS.

It combines both a radio and gps, which makes it a real bargain.

The Garmin Rino 120 Radio GPS is well worth the money.
