How To Create Special Garden Walling

Most gardeners find it very rewarding and relaxing to work in our gardens. We are very deliberate about making sure the plants are grouped nicely and the weeds are gone. One way of keeping your garden in pristine shape is to protect it.

I am going to walk you through the steps on how to construct unique gaden walling.

The first thing to think about is what you vision your wall to look like.

Then choose the appropriate materials and go to work.

If deciding choose a brick or stone wall, then you will need professional to install it for you, this is not something you can do alone without brick laying skills. Another way of constructing your wall is with a short picket fence. Not only does it look great but you can paint it to match your house. Although this is not a solid wall, it will be enough to prevent people trampling all over all the time. By placing clear heavy plastic on the inside of the fence it will keep the soil in place. For a more unique looking structure you might choose something like railroad ties for a rustic feel.

These are easily connected by long bolts that hold the ties together. Simply build them to the height and length you desire. This will be a solid wall once it is in place. Holly or boxwood bushes make great living wall for your garden. Make sure that you know how to care for them before you buy them.

If you are the kind of person that wants immediate gratification then by all means purchase the mature bushes and plant them.

You will have to trim the hedges every now and then, and fertilize them to keep them healthy. To sum it up that are various materials available for building garden walling. After all the work that you have done on your garden it is a good idea to protect your investment. No matter what you choose it will look fantastic in your yard. Building a wall will make for good resale value on your house as well.
