Just returned from seeing the new Tyler Perry movie and let me present you with the Why Did I Get Married Too movie review. Like any other movie, there were good parts and bad parts, however the movie was worth seeing because of the good parts. Tyler Perry is a force to be reckoned with if a person has never seen any of his movies. But I must warn the movie goers out there, the movies are either really good or really bad. But this movie was actually very good.
There is definitely a plot line and it is easy to follow, a common trait of all of his works. He never tries to create a story that is foreign or irrelevant. Literally the title says it all, “why did I get married? ” This is chapter two of four couples from the end of the first one. Surprisingly they have new problems in each of their relationships, except for Angela and Marcus; it seems like the same old problem. Diane could possibly be cheating, Troy is jobless, and Patricia and Gavin are on the rocks. He cleverly takes you inside each of the characters and offers enough drama to keep you entertained.
The characters of the movie are definitely characters to remember because they are so relatable. Perry has a talent for displaying the flaws of people in such a way that it does not seem forced. We see Angela as the “ghetto” one ready to fight anyone especially her husband. Patricia is the one that bottles everything up and is desperate to fix everyone else but herself. And lastly Terry has all the advice on women while all the while watching everything little thing that his wife is doing differently. With all the good parts of the movie the ending was still surprising.
The prediction that one couple would not make it was alarming news but the reason is even more shocking. Perry usually wraps up the loose endings in his plays and movies. But in this movie it seems as if nothing really got resolved because Angela and Marcus never solved their problem while Patricia and Gavin just simply ended. Without giving away the ending I will say that it was rushed. He tries to put a yellow bow around it all but the movie really needed more time and that's a problem because the movie happened to be two hours and fifteen minutes.
The rushing in the movie was a huge flaw but also the there were scenes out of focus and problems with the sound. Whether that was something the theater had wrong, the sound, or it being the movie itself, the focusing could have been corrected during production.
I have no clue which it is. Needless to say, it was still an issue. By the end of the day, I would say the movie is definitely worth seeing no matter how you may feel about the ending.
There was nothing bad about the ending just rushed. Why Did I Get Married Too movie review lets the movie have 4 out of 5 stars.
Looking to find the best advice on upcoming new movies for you.
