“Never put off until tomorrow what you can do today” doesn't apply to the young, they think they can procrastinate for as long as they like. Remember those days? I do, and I also know now how precious time is and I try to utilize every moment.

I have a few hints here to help you do the same, and to stop wasting time on tasks we shouldn't even be bothering about. Although TV is undoubtedly a great invention, it is also the main cause of wasted time.

You get into the habit of staring at the flickering screen without actually watching it. This time slot could be used a lot more productively, so leave the TV room and do something else. We are all guilty of stopping an important task midstream to watch a TV show, well the easy way to stop this is to record it. That way you get all your tasks done and can enjoy the show at your leisure, cutting out the commercials will save enormous amounts of time over a week or so.

If you are going to do a necessary task which will, through no fault of your own, create a chunk of wasted time, fill in that time. A prime example of this is waiting in line to renew a driving license. Situations like this are extremely annoying and frustrating. Don't lose that precious 2 hours. Take a notebook and pen and you will fill the time easily.

If you are going on a trip you can plan what you need to buy, you can plan the meals for the week or even do the grocery shopping list.

These all need doing, so you may as well consolidate the time and do it while you wait? If you are learning something or need to gather information, a great time to do this is while you are driving. Why not download some podcasts and play them while you drive?

You will be alert and receptive to the information. This is no more distracting than having the radio on, and you will be learning instead of just listening.

It's also a lot safer than talking on your phone while driving.

These are only a few ideas as to how to save time. Everyone has their own schedule and now best how to utilize their time, but these tips will have undoubtedly helped.
