Included in the highly questionable cataclysmic disasters of 2012 is the December 2012 polar shift.
The Mayan Long Calendar 'Talks' About
The End Of
The World As We Know ItDecember 21, 2012 has been considered a special date since the ancient Mayan civilization had their day.
The Mayas used a special calendar called the Long Calendar – a type that does not get used much during the ancient days – that runs several thousands of years, 5,126 to be exact.
The cycle of the calendar began on Day Zero on August 11, 3114 B. C. which precedes the civilization's beginnings. Using the precision of the Mayan's Long Calendar, prophetic aficionados, astronomers, astrologers, scientists and experts alike espouse a wide spectrum of beliefs on the coming end of the Long Calendar – among the many is that the world will end when the calendar ends. Fast approaching the end date of the Long calendar – December 21, 2012 – mankind is now faced with possibilities of a grim future. But no one really knows what will happen when this date hits.
The Mayas have no known record that explains in detail what had happened in the past or what will happen in the future. Strong believers of doomsday events, however, believe that mankind and his civilization will end along with the Long Calendar.
The Predictions Of
The Bible CodeIt is clearly mentioned in the final book of the Bible, the book of Revelations, that no one knows when the Second Coming or end of the world will come. This, though, does not stop researchers from looking for clues about the timing of the Second Coming of the Messiah.
The author of the book,
The Bible Code, Michael Drosnin believes he has found the answer. He succeeded in decoding through a complex mathematical formula a hint that suggests that between the years 2010 to 2012, comets will be bombarding the Earth. This is not a surprising finding, after all, a few accounts in the Book of Revelations have mentioned exactly these events.
The End Of
The World As Nostradamus ForesawSeveral centuries after he wrote his prophecies, Nostradamus is still being cited to provide explanations about the looming doom for mankind. Whether it's the accuracy of his predictions or the coincidence of his prophecies with actual events that caused the revival of interest on his prophecies, that's still up for debate. What is clear though us that several hundred years after he wrote his prophecies, these are still fuelling much interest. Nostradamus did not prophecy that the world will end on 2012 though, as many others choose to believe. However, it is argued that these will coincide with the end of the Mayan Long Calendar. Time alone can tell whether the December 2012 polar shift and other apocalyptic events will truly turn the world upside down on December 21, 2012 or not, or whether the year that is being waited with much fear and fascination will be just like any other year.
