I suggested George Washington because the Constitution he crafted 1) replaced the governing authority of God with the governing authority of “we the people,” (Preamble). and 2) outlawed the Biblical requirement for a religious test oath (Art VI, Sec 3).

I explained that this paved the way for all of the socialist Presidents of the 20th Century. About an hour or so later I checked to see if there was any response to my post and lo and behold it was nowhere to be found.

The tone was reasonable as I recalled, so I resubmitted it. Checking back the next day I noticed that it had again been removed. Hmmm?? A couple of weeks later all became crystal clear when the moderator summarized the 1000+ comments he had received. “Your remarks have run the gamut from the sublime (those that agree with me, of course) to the ridiculous (the worst President in history was the first one George Washington? ). ” Aha! ! Evidence Against Washington's ChristianityI sent an individual email to the moderator challenging him to “do your homework. ” Don't just naively accept the whitewashed public image of Washington, but ponder just a few of the reasons that Washington fell far short of the qualifications for biblical leadership:1) Washington rejected any mention of Christ as his Savior or as Lord of the nation in virtually all of his voluminous writings, although confronted by many Christian pastors. His own Pastor, Dr. Abercrombie, stated he did not believe that Washington was a true Christian because of his cavalier attitude toward the Lord's Table.

The great evangelist John Wesley did not mince words in describing Washington as “vile” and “hypocrite. “2) As mentioned above he was a leader in crafting the document by which America placed her man-made governing document above the Bible as “the supreme law of the land” (Art VI, Sec 1). 3) Over the course of his lifetime Washington attained the rank of Grand Master in the Masonic Lodge, taking many anti-Christian oaths in the process.

It is impossible to take these oaths and remain true to Christ. 4) Washington had no qualms about leading his army against the British on Christmas eve. This had traditionally been a time of “truce” or ceasefire, according to the “rules of warfare” practiced by Christian nations during that period of history. Washington was a master politician who spent many hours cultivating his political “image” each day: practicing horse tricks, practicing dancing, practicing rock throwing, and preening his appearance, sometimes braiding his hair to his waist.
