How Bed Guards Can Protect Your Children

The role of a bed rail is to prevent a toddler (and their eiderdown and cuddlies) from rolling off the bed.

The bed rail is secured down the unguarded edge of the bed and acts as a solid rail against which a toddler can safely press. Bed guards are usually purchased when a toddler is making the move from a secure cot to an open sided bed.

The move in beds usually happens when a toddler is around its 2nd birthday.

The traditional bed guards either have a metal or plastic frame with a mesh insert or are made of wood.

They come in a variety of colours and finishes but all work in the same way.

They have to be assembled and then fixed under the base of the bed using screws and clamps.

They are cumbersome, heavy and expensive.

The Bed Bumper is a 100cm long firm foam wedge which sits directly onto the mattress.

The bed is then made up using normal bed sheets leaving the bumper securely in place on the mattress.

The bumper will not move around as it is held in place by the sheets and by the fact that the cotton mattress and sheets 'stick' to the foam. This new foam bed guard is delivered ready to be put straight onto the bed, no construction is required and as it sits under the sheets a child cannot get caught in it.

The foam guard is virtually colour free and so is not visible under the bed sheets.

The Bed Bumper is available in a variety of lengths and therefore is suitable for all types of beds, including cot beds, and all ages of children.

It is lightweight and therefore highly portable making it ideal for holiday use, overnight at Grandma's and even a camping and caravaning holiday.

It can be folded into a bag or suitcase without adding additional weight.
