Cheerleading is not always about the routines

While the main goal of cheerleading is to praise the sports teams and assist in getting donations for different fundraising efforts, making sure everyone looks uniform and harmonized is as much about their outfits as it is about their routines. Having a slight variation in accessories, shoes, hair styles, makeup, or even alternating colors is okay, but you want to make sure everyone looks as identical as possible to keep the flow of movement going and the eyes of the spectators engaged.

Hair accessories are a huge component of the entire ensemble and you want to make sure they are as distinct as possible while still matching the outfit.

If you have a green uniform with black piping, it is perfectly acceptable to have Cheerleading Bows that are black with green piping. Matching exactly is always an option, but having a bit of variance shouldn’t hurt the integrity of the team.

You can have long hanging bows, pom pom style bulbs, ribbons, or even sequins to place all over the head in the colors of the uniforms. When you are dressing up the girls on the squad, you want their hair style to all be as similar as possible with high ponytails and big bows adorning their shiny hair to keep the audience’s eyes on them at all times.

The Cheerleading Outfits are obviously the most important component of the group appeal, but even those do not have to be matching entirely. A silver based uniform with blue accents for the girls on the squad and a blue based uniform with silver accents for the boys would be perfectly acceptable and even add some drama and flash to the collaborative work.

It would be eye catching for those watching and they would be able to pick out their favorite performer easier if there were a few more defining characteristics to their clothing.

Accessories are another way of adding some more dimensions to Cheerleading Apparel .

If you had the lifters wearing a different colored sock than the people who are being lifted then that might be an easier way to identify the ones you need to during a competition.

If you had the girls who need to be lifted wearing a different hair bow than the girls who would be using pom poms, it would make it a lot easier for the team members who had to lift to be able to recognize who they were supposed to be lifting.

Being able to be flexible is not just about the physical capabilities of the cheerleaders themselves, but also about the wardrobe they have to wear. Allowing the cheerleaders to have a certain sense of style and individuality will not only help them grow in to their own identities, but give them a sense of bringing something more to the table than just their talents on the pyramid.

They can be exactly who they are with subtle changes in their flair and design and still be a part of a winning team that enhances their schools morale and funding.
